Week 2 – Authority Comes From Submission
2.1) What is the difference between submission and Compliance?
Examples:
l. Child made to stand in the corner says” I may be standing up on the outside, but I’m sitting down on the inside
ll. Putting in the clock hours on the job, but not working with excellence to the best of your ability
lll. Having your devotion time for the sake of checking it off the list, rather than to hear the voice of God speak to you
2.2) Lack of submission brings consequences. Name a time when you did not submit to authority and what the results were?
What is an area that you don’t like to submit to and what happens when you don’t submit?
Examples:
l. Policeman pulling you over for violation/Ticket & or worse
ll. Child told not to go out into the street/accident or death
lll. Filing taxes on time/financial penalty
2.3) In our lesson we learned that authority comes from submission.
Name a time when you submitted and it brought promotion to greater authority for you?
What is an area in which you find it beneficial to submit and what happens when you do?
Examples:
l. Taking an assignment on the job that you don’t really like that would assist in the overall benefit of everyone/creates team unity, benefits working relationships, brings promotion & bonus
ll. Fastening your seat belt on a roller coaster/your life is spared & you have a fantastic ride
lll. Spouses submitting in agreement/produces unity & authority over their children & home
2.4) Daily submission and surrender to God are essential to your destiny. Give an example of a time when God changed your plans and you later saw that it was Him doing it?
How has God spoken to you to change a plan that you had already made that resulted in greater blessing?
Examples:
l. Last min. change in flight/travel plans/life spared
ll. Parent hearing God’s voice concerning permission for child to be involved in an outing with friends/out of temptations way
lll. Financial submission giving in faith when Holy Spirit prompts you to give and it’s not in your budget/Financial harvest return
2.5) Name an area of your life that you can apply today’s lesson on submission and authority personally?
What is something in your life that you feel like you want to see change in, but have a difficult time overcoming?
