Week 7 – Discovering the Struggle
7.1) What does “struggle” mean to you?
Give an example of a struggle and its source or cause (or where it occurs)?
Examples:
l. Caterpillar in cocoon becoming a butterfly
ll. Climber ascending a mountain peak
lll. Camel crawling through the “eye of a needle” at a city wall
7.2) In our lesson today, we learned that our struggle with opposition breeds creativity.
How has a struggle in your life given you opportunity for greater purpose?
Name a time when a struggle came to you for a purposed intent?
Examples:
l. Blessing someone else in need out of own personal need
ll. Ladies giving birth to a new life
lll. Working out for better health & fitness
7.3) What complications have arisen from a time when you gave in to the opposition instead of struggling against it?
Name a time when you chose NOT to struggle through an opposing situation, and what the results were?
Examples:
l. Resistance to Christian lifestyle/ gave in to friend’s & coworkers worldly influence
ll. Convenience & Immediate gratification of appetite/Indulgence in fast food & junk food
lll. Questionable & compromising media/weakened resistance to the wrong materials
7.4) How can you reposition your place of struggle into a place of strength?
What can you begin doing right now to strengthen you in your present struggle?
Examples:
l. Read & memorize the Word of God concerning that particular struggle/renewing your mind as an overcomer
ll. Get connected to some solid Christian “trusted voices” in your life (life group)/gaining strength from God through His people
lll. Read Christian books on that particular struggle/seeing yourself as an overcomer
